the beautiful, unchanging sky

Myo-Un is a elegant, sweet and gentle young girl. She is one of the main protagonists in the manhwa.

Myo-Un was found by Lady Seong Howori (the orphan's Sabu-Nim - teacher in Korean) and was taken in, like most of the characters in the manhwa. She had a horrible slash wound on her head and was believed to not be able to make it through. After being unconcious for a month, she recovered, and yet the children at the orphange still feared her and she had no friends. Myo-Un is one of the few children in the temple that has received no training in swordsmanship. She did not want to learn it - 'After all, no matter how beautiful a sword may be, it is a weapon to harm others.'

Her first and only friend was Ryu-Sang, and we see more of their past interactions in Nabi - the prototype -. Ryu-Sang at that time was the only one who talked to her, despite his refusal and claims that 'he didn't to talk with girls'. He was assigned to look after her and each night he would read the same book to her and she would fall asleep at the sound of his voice.

Their relationship becomes strained after it is implied that Myo-Un said something that she shouldn't have, for he calls her a 'big liar' and throws a vase on her head. After that, she has a scar that symbolises the end of their relationship.

After the attack of the temple, they are forced to travel together, along side with the their orphan friends - Aru and Jerc-Young. They take an airship to the Su country despite one of their caretakers telling them not to. Currently, they are staying at Lord Soun Suk Myeong's house.

She has a firm belief in family and companionship, stemming from being an orphan. She plays a mother-like role for the young children when they were at the orphanage/temple, and continues to reprise her role when they are forced to leave, taking care of Aru, Jerc-Young and the disgruntled Ryu-Sang.

She heavily blames herself for what had happened at the temple. 'She rescues somebody, but the rescued draws out his sword and destorys her home.' The temple to her was the only home that she has ever known and remembered. It was her sanctuary and she feels terrible remorse for what has happened to it. Myo-Un still clings on the hope that she will be able to be reunited with Seong Howori (Sabu-Nim - teacher in Korean).

Slowly, as the plot develops, it seems that she might be the last child of the Hong family. Despite claims that the last child from the Hong family is male, Myo-Un has some attributes that demonstrates she may be the heir of the Hong family. As Harim states in Volume 4, 'I could..never sense her movements. And she is one of the few at the temple who was not taught of swordsmanship'. We see a flash back of her and Lady Syo-Ru which confirms that she indeed is the last child of the Hong family. Her real name is Hong Ha-Young.

Myo-Un doesn't remember most of her memories but can recall some of the exits and pathways of Lady Syo-Ru's manor (where they are currently staying in) which gives her an advanatage when she runs away from the guards.

Due to Ryu-Sang's ability to 'see' Lady Syo-Ru, a fortune-teller and the main protagonist of the plot, Myo-Un is supposedly fed poisoned meat which knocks her unconcious for a month. She has to receive the antidote daily, thus forced to become a hostage.
